                                             ABOUT

Mill Cottage Bunkhouse is located in the stunning North Pennines village of Nenthead which is one of the highest villages in England at around 1,500ft.  It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a UNESCO Global Geopark.

The bunkhouse is located next to the historic Nenthead Mines site which was once a major centre for lead and silver mining and in it’s time had the most productive lead mine in the country.  Mill cottage back then was reportedly where the smelt mill manager resided.  The Nenthead Mines site is now ran by a group of volunteers, with regular visitor open days and mine tours which can be booked on the Nenthead Mines website.

Mill Cottage Bunkhouse is situated on the famous C2C cycle route and only a short walk away from Isaacs Tea Trail.  With the popular visitor town of Alston near by and the Lake District National Park only a drive away, there is plenty to explore and do here at Mill Cottage Bunkhouse.
